Association of Legal Administrators installs new board

Marina Field was installed as president of the San Diego chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators (ALA) last week during the group's annual leadership dinner at The Prado in Balboa Park. The office administrator for Troutman Sanders LLP, Field replaces outgoing president Jennifer Severson, the litigation support supervisor for Luce, Forward, Hamilton & Scripps.
Field has been a member of ALA-SD for the past nine years. She'll serve as president through March 2011.
Other board members installed last week were President-elect/Education Chair Liz Mackres, office administrator for Casey Gerry Schenk Francavilla Blatt & Penfield; Vice President/Membership Chair Jeff Talcot, office administrator for Goodwin Procter LLP; Treasurer Leslie Kaiser, legal administrator for The Maxham Firm APC; Secretary Monica Menzer, office administrator for Allen Matkins Leck Gamble & Mallory LLP; Director of Business Partner Relations Rita Hee, manager, human resources and administration for Stutz Artiano Shinoff & Holtz, APC; Director Gerald Hester, facilities manager for Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves & Savitch LLP; Director Yvonne Kilmer, human resources & benefits manager for Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves & Savitch LLP and Immediate Past President Severson.
During this year, Field announced plans to continue our professional partnerships with other legal organizations and continue the learning programs. She also has also set up two new committees within the local chapter for Diversity and Leadership and is organizing a team for a 5K run in October 2010. There will also be a fundraising fashion show in conjunction with the ALA Regions 5 & 6 Conference & Expo being held at the Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego Sept. 30-Oct. 2, 2010. Field stressed the importance of volunteers within the organization and thanked all firms that encourage participation with the ALA.
